Dockside service - Let us come to you! Varnishing & Refinishing Winterization Detailing
When a restoration candidate arrives at Maritime Classics, we evaluate the boat for signs of structural wear-and-tear, hidden damage, historical inaccuracies, and malfunctioning hardware. We work closely with our clients throughout this process to not only give their boat a new life, but create a the finished product that they have been dreaming of.
Historical Accuracy | Since the beginning, Maritime Classics has made it a priority to restore and preserve these works of art as they were originally intended. Unless specified by the owner, each boat that leaves our doors will look as close as possible to the condition it originally left the factory in.
5200 Construction | Maritime Classics have found that following traditional, factory methods has been most successful in creating long-lasting and reliable hulls. The process begins with the removal of the engine and all hardware to allow the boat to be carefully flipped upside down. Then the old bottom is removed and the keel, chines, and framework are inspected for any rot or damage. Once those are deemed structurally sound, the new inner and outer planking is built using the method of the original manufacture. The new bottom is then removed and all the wood is sealed with CPES before the planks are reinstalled using 5200 and new bronze fasteners. Parts | Over the years, we have developed a vast network that allows us to find rare parts, instruments panels, and gauges. We can also cast, machine, or construct custom parts.
